why i paint

the other day i had  a conversation with my 2 dogs, napoleon and shasta.  following is an excerpt of that conversation:

shasta:  master,  ever since i've known you, you've painted. why do you paint?

me (master): money and fame.

napoleon: master, what is money?

me (master): money is when i add warm water to your dog food to make a gravy.

shasta: what is fame?

me (master):  fame is when i wake up in the morning and take you for a walk so that you may crap out all the gravied dog food you ate the night before.
