feel the heat

"aright" said the captain, "be good" said the blush, "feel the heat" said pine-top (moments before he died). the sound he made was very unrealistic, very, um, how do you say, gas pumpish? no, i mean, oil tankish. yeah, that's it, that's the number. for a moment ol' pine top thought he was gonna be a carpenter, the son of a carpenter, like the other blueberry faced gentleman...whatisname? what? who? oh yeah, that's it, tighty whitey. hmmm. i'll have to think about this. not too much though, no, no, no...don't think too much or you might break the bank.  "leave some for the rest of us" the old croatian yelled. no-one laughed. it was a joke, a poorly translated eastern european joke, one that should have been left on the sidewalk that surrounded the old football field. younger generations could have stumbled upon it, made it their own, updated it with flash cards and b-52 cable cars. then it'd be funny, then it'd have some relevance, then it'd be adopted by the campaign. just imagine, up in lights, big letters over the square of time, "come for the pie, stay for the peace."  a slogan for the ages.
