the 4 km road between my home and the highway is so characteristic of rural beauty: rolling farmland, small streams, patches of forest. i drive this road every day, every day i stop, look, listen. it is perfect.

in the winter, the snow on the hills is untouched all season, except by the wind, shaped by the wind.

when i painted this landscape i was the wind, the oil paint was the snow.
